Privacy Policy
GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (GDPR) On 25th May 2018, GSPR came into affect, replacing the Data Protection Act. This affects all businesses, including me The Secret Salon @no5 and the personal data I hold about my clients. ​ Any personal data I hold about my guest's (you) is stored securely and is NEVER shared with any third party under any circumstances. However, the new legislation requires me Joanne O'Carroll to advise you of the Privacy Policy, as follows: ​ What personal details are held by The Secret Salon @no5

There are 3 types of personal data I may hold about you: Client Data, Technical Data and Photographs. ​ Client Data- Client data is held in my diary and mobile phone, these consist of: Name Address Contact number (home phone and/or mobile) E-mail address (if provided) The data I hold in my books is held securely and not shared with any third parties under and circumstances. By law you are entitled to view this information at your request. Although, I have an accountant to file my tax returns for myself, I must make you aware that, all that is in diary is the service/treatment you receive and the amount of said service/treatment (NO addresses, NO names and NO contact numbers). No client information is required or given to my accountant to to file my tax returns.

The information I hold within my mobile phone can only be accessed by either Facial Recognition (face ID) or by a pass code. I am the only one who has access to this pass code. ​ Technical Data- Technical Data is for clients who have chemical services/treatments (colours or OLAPLEX treatments). This information consists of the colour formula I have used on yourself.
There will also be information about any Olaplex treatment required. I may also hold information about any products used during your service/treatments (e.g. Clarifying shampoo, heat protection spray). This information is held on a client record card. A client record card will be completed before every service. This consists of a questionnaire to determine whether or not the service can be carried out. (e.g any allergies ) You are also entitled to view your record card at any time. The above information is kept in a secure box in the salon and is not, nor will be, shared with anyone else​.

Photographs- Images are NEVER taken without your verbal consent, and will only be used for marketing purposes on my website, or social media (Facebook and Instagram). I will always seek your permission to use your image(s) whether than be through message or face to face during your appointment. You, of course, have every right to refuse. Other personal data is not required in these circumstances.
​ Why is this information held about me and how is it used?-Client Data is held for reference purposes. Your contact number and email address is held so I can contact you if you have made an enquiry or if you have requested an appointment.
Photographs are displayed so I can showcase my work to potential clients.
Technical Data is held as a reference point so that I know which products i have used for your previous service. ​
Will you ever sell my details to third parties? Never!

The Secret Salon @No5 is not affiliated to any third party organisation (and does not work for any other company or organisation). Personal data will never be passed or sold to any third party under any circumstance. All marketing activities undertaken by The Secret Salon @No5 are done via the following: my website, Facebook or Instagram. None of which require the use of - or passing on personal data. Personal data is NOT used for any activities other than what has been stated in this paragraph.
​ How can my personal data be deleted?- In line with GDPR, you have the right to refuse permission for any personal data to be held by me. Please notify me if you wish for your data to be deleted. ​ You haven't done my hair in over a year, Do you still have my number?- No.

If you have not used my services for a year or more, I will delete your client data, including images on my phone (images may still appear on my website,Facebook and/or Instagram) and will dispose of this responsibly. I will therefore no longer have access to your Contact number. If you make an initial enquiry, your contact number will appear on my 'recent calls' on my phone/ However, I delete this list regularly.
This information will be used only in aggregate. This information allows us make your experience on our website valuable to you and to improve your overall surfing experience. We may also use information to provide us with additional ways to market our services.
